Monarch Colony
A colony is a group of animals of the same type that live together. Monarch butterflies cluster together in their winter colonies in Mexico by the millions. As many as 15,000 butterflies can cluster on a single bough, and bend the branch under their weight! A monarch weighs about 500 mg. How much would a branch with 15,000 butterflies weigh?
