Estela was surprised to find so many monarchs still remained in the sanctuary when she visited on Sunday, and says an uncountable number have yet to begin migration.

"I sat down in the core of the colony where I was able to hear and see the butterflies burting from clusters. The explosive sound of thousands of wings as the butterflies fly off from the trees is indescribable."
