Back to this week's update.

Welcome Back, Boys!
"I've been waiting for the song," reported a Virginia observer last week. "Heard it late this afternoon in the backyard. Welcome back, boys!"

Did you know?
The boys—male robins—do indeed come first. Females come last.

Females make all the same vocalizations and calls as the males—except for one: Females do not sing the "true" song—the song that identifies a male on his territory.

People have always believed that singing birds are happy birds. It may be scientifically true! A study shows that birds have higher levels of endorphins (the all-natural, feel-good chemicals our bodies make) when they’re singing.
