Male and female robins are similar, but you can tell them apart if you look for these clues: Males have brighter orange breasts and darker heads, sometimes almost black. The white eye crescents and throat rings are more dramatic on males than females. It's absolutely a male if it's singing the robin's song—not just the peek! or tut-tut-tut calls. It's easiest to see the differences if you are regularly watching a pair during breeding season. Try it!
