Why Leave Now? This nest looks very crowded! It is best for any baby bird to leave the nest as soon as it safely can. Nests aren't the cozy, safe little homes that you may think. Baby birds calling from the nest are easy targets for predators. The warm, humid nests are breeding grounds for parasites that can make birds sick. Baby can't fly well yet, but it's good to go anyway. What must the new fledglings learn in the days and weeks ahead? You'll find out in this week's new slideshow.
