Hunting Zones
Rain and snowmelt soften the soil for earthworms. Watch how robins search in places where snow has recently melted. These are favorite hunting spots for robins during migration, as they switch their food from dried fruits or berries to juicy worms.

Wisconsin: "We have a foot of snow on the ground in Manitowoc County. As we were driving I spotted a robin in a patch of ground in the snow."

North Carolina: "In afternoon, as snow was melting in pathes, a flock of large robins settled under our pample trees, looking fo rworms. There has been much rain and the ground is very soft and wet."
