Berry Binge
Another week of rain, snow, ice and sleet made for hungry flocks of robins fueling up for warmth and flight.

"After blizzard conditions yesterday (fog, ice pellets followed by thunder snow and strong winds), this morning six robins just fluttered in, grabbed crabapples from the tree in the yard, and flew off. Our first robins of the season!"
Linda Schmidt in Eldora, Iowa (February 21, 2014) Christina in Bushnell, South Dakota (February 3, 2014)

"Hundreds of Robins (500-1000) foraging for food in our backyard and in the trees immediately surrounding our house. They appeared to be focused on a holly tree in particular, but also any other source of food in the vicinity. They were in the area for less than 24 hours."
Erik K., Edgewater, Maryland (February 15, 2014)

"A wave of 80. They LOVE my crabapple tree and come every year!"
Julie Holland, Grade 2 teacher at Normandy Elementary, Bay Village, Ohio (February 13, 2014)
