Tipsy Treats? Robins that gorge themselves on the remnants of last year's fruits can get a little tipsy. This happens most often in late winter and early spring when overwintering berries thaw and yeast fermentation of the sugars forms alcohol. Tipsy robins may fly into windows, buildings or cars and get hurt. Luckily for them, their summer diet of worms, grubs, grasshoppers and caterpillars will soon be plentiful.
