Playground Robins
Spring arrived with the robins in Mirimichi, New Brunswick, after a long, cold and snowy winter! Some of the robins may stay while others move on.
Males returning to their old territory here already know all the best hiding and feeding places. They have experience spotting intruders and chasing them away. That means they have a better chance than any other robin of defending the exact same territory year after year.
"This morning there were 8 out on the playground! They were looking for food and in the tree and some seemed to be flying around each other and fighting. They may be looking for things for their nests."
