The forth graders eagerly volunteered to come to the big satellite Map at the front of the classroom. As Estela narrates, they pointed to the monarch migration pathways. The migration, and the life cycle information are all new to these students.

There is a lot of excitement as the children worked on writing and decorating their letters to students in Canada and the United States.

Then students were excited and fascinated by the gifts that they received inside their ambassador butterflies.

During their discussions, a child in the class expressed appreciation for the Journey North visit to the school. He and his teacher shared how helpful it was for the students and the community to learn such highly interesting information about monarchs. They wanted us to know that now they realize how valuable and ecologically important Their region is for the survival of monarchs — and for their own well-being!

At the end of the visit Estela awards the class a book-game donated to the school.
