Emiliano Zapata Elementary Grades 4th 5th 6th
It all seems that up to now, Journey North is the first information channel through which children, teachers and family get such a thorough informative “Lecture” about Monarchs life and about their region’s natural richness.
Rocinante, the mighty little Volkswagen, drove through the hills and forests toward the neighboring community, "Pancho Maya." The Emiliano Zapata school is located directly at the back of the Sierra Chincua Sanctuary.
The students were fascinated with the story of the monarch life-cycle. All of them want to participate and have a turn at holding the models of the life-cycle! As they study the monarch migration, the students feel really proud to know where Canada and US territories are located on the map. They became so proud when Estela asked them to come to the front and point one more time to the routes, and they did it correctly.
The students all write beautiful letters to their new friends in the United States and Canada. Then there was great, great excitement as each student received their Ambassador butterflies and gifts.
