Symbolic Monarchs in Mexico

Amado Nervo Elementary - Fifth Grade
Amado Nervo Elementary is located in downtown Ocampo, main concentration point of the timber coming from the Sanctuaries' surrounding forests, to be sold as raw material.

This group was wonderfully participative.  Highly interested in knowing about the polinization facts of Monarchs together with other insects and birds.  A few of them, children whose parents' main living is Bee-Farming, spoke about all what they know about Bee's role in nature!  They were very knowledgeable about the topic and kept their classmates mouth-open (me too), about the way they explained their classmates about the importance of polinization in our global and local ecosystems! While their classmates listened to them, they looked at them with admiration and respect at finding our about their expertise in nature!

Breaktime: Mostly, schools only have the main/central yard at the school for children to spend breaktime.  There children invent their own games, most of them games learned by tradition from their teachers and parents, oldest children in their families and friends.  Particularly in this school, it has been exceptional to observe mothers selling nutritious dishes prepared in home kitchens. This is unusual, almost 90% of the schools, the mothers do not bring these foods to the school and they rely on commercial snacks whic are not nutritious.  On the other side, two or three mothers came at breaktime to feed their children themselves with launch recently cooked at home, something seldom seen being this the extreme opposite of the very scarce care of childrens' nutrition conditions at the rest of the schools.
