This school is part of the Ejido El Rosario, located in “La Cantera” Community, in Ejido Angangueo. It is among the first belt nearness to “El Rosario” Sanctuary.

In this community the mountain sides look bare of trees due to the intense seasonal farming - mainly growing corn for the families for the year.
Second graders receive Journey North for their first time, and explaining to them the migration phenomenon in simple words across the borders from our neighbouring countries is enough for this first visit. Children and their teachers look marvelled at hearing the challenges and strength the Monarchs have to endure throughout the whole migration cycle.
The children gave me the warmest good bye they could have expressed, and they marvelled at their gift “México y sus Riquezas”.
