Hummingbird Migration Update: April 23, 1998

Just a quick update today to give you the latest migration data for your map.

AND the report you've been waiting for...
After collecting hummingbird sightings by the hundreds, "Hummingbirds" WWW mastermind Lanny Chambers saw his own!

"I *finally* got a hummer today, 4/16," said Chambers. "That's 2 days earlier than ever before, in the 11 years I've kept track. (See the red dot near St. Louis on my map.)"

Until this year, his first hummingbird sighting in St. Louis (most likely THE first hummingbird in St. Louis, as it's hard to believe he'd miss one!) has been April 20, +/- 2 days.

Other highlights this week:
A sighting today in Rewey, Wisconsin and yesterday in Ann Arbor, Michigan. So get your feeder out if you haven't seen a hummer yet--they're getting closer!!
