    According to reports from our southern observers, spring hasn't progressed far over the past 2 weeks. Watch for things to move at faster pace as last week's cool temperatures are replaced by more spring-like conditions.As you continue to look up at your tree and wait for its leaves to appear, think about this question: "Without climbing to the top with a measuring tape, how could you estimate the height of your tree?"

    How could you estimate the age of your tree, without cutting it down to count its rings? "Our dogwoods are just beginning to have small blossoms, but they are not yet the size of quarters," reports an observer from Georgia. Are dogwood flowers actually leaves or flowers?
