Our country is located in the south central portion of Europe, watered by the Mediterranean Sea. Our city is the second largest in Greece and is located in the north central portion of the country. It is on the Mediterranean Sea and acts as an important trade port. The climate here is Mediterranean: hot in summer and cold in winter. There are hundreds of beautiful sea sites here, ideal for swimming from May to late September. There are also a lot of beautiful islands with very nice traditional places to spend the summer time.

Our language is based on the ancient Greek language born 3,000 years ago. Since then, it has transformed to a modern language that is much simplier.

Most of the people here are Greek Orthodox. Thousands of churches, large and small, exist throughout the country. We celebrate our name as we do with our birthday. Usually our names come from names of saints that our religion has.
