Here in Haines, Alaska, it feels very damp and rainy. It is starting to get chilly. We saw 'termination dust,' which is the the first snow that tells us summer is over. It is moose hunting season. Mushrooms are starting to grow. Trees are starting to lose branches because it is windy. There was a migrating merlin outside of town. The salmon are spawning which is bringing the eagles into our valley. The bears also come for the salmon and we see them by the river.
