Bald Eagles
Each fall hundreds of bald eagles migrate great distances to congregate along the Chilkat and Chilkoot Rivers near Haines, Alaska. The eagles know the salmon will be abundant here where the water is open. Citizen scientist and teacher, Pam Randles and her students study and count eagles at these sites each year. Find out more.

"We saw more eagles (438) this week than last week. Now that there are fewer leaves on the trees it is easier to see the eagles. They have moved in to concentrate in the center of the observation area where they find more fish," writes Pam. 10/19/13
