Tiger Swallowtails
The eastern tiger swallowtail butterfly is native to North America. It is commonly seen in eastern states and provinces. Swallowtails can produce 2 to 3 generations from spring to fall. Males have dramatic black stripes on each forewing. Females have brown or black stripes and a conspicuous band of blue spots at the base of the hindwing.
