Apple Picking
The majority of apple, pear and sweet cherry production in North America lies in the Pacific Northwest and Northern California. These areas, between 43 and 49 ° north of the equator, lay in the rain shadows of north-south mountain ranges. Climate and water availability offer the right conditions needed for fruit production.
"I'm picking ripe apples from my trees. The good ones go into the pantry; runts and fallen fruit are left for deer and raccoons to clean up." John Doerper in Bellingham, Washington 10/06/14
