Reflecting Winter's Light
A small town in Norway lies in a deep valley, and during the six months of winter, its steep mountains cast a shadow over the town even at midday. From late November to late January, the sun never appears above the horizon in this northern part of the world, and daylight hours are very short.

Three mirrors, 17 square meters each, were brought in by helicopter and placed on a mountain, about 450 meters above the centre of the town that will direct the sun's rays to the town square. Stretch your research skills by tracking down more facts about how the mirrors bring winter's light to Rjukan, Norway.
