Red-winged Blackbird
After a record-cold winter, more than 100 people reported this welcome sign of spring during March.

"Finally a sign that spring is on its way. Forget that pesky groundhog, it's the Red-winged Blackbird that truly heralds the coming of spring. They arrived here 9 days later than last year and 20 days later than 2012. Now if the rest of spring would just show up."
