Traveling Too Far The Painted Bunting is an unexpected migrant in Ontario where this male arrived on April 27th. It should be no farther north than roughly southern Kansas, at least 1,000 miles away. "During the migration period, bird species that have no business in various geographic locations turn up. This colorful fellow is rare to the extreme in Ontario," said Don Davis who forwarded this remarkable sighting made by Lianne Atwood of Huntsville. |
