Painting Buntings
The Painted Bunting, Passerina ciris, is a member of the finch family. They breed in the coastal Southeast and in the south-central U.S. after wintering in Mexico and the Caribbean. It is quite common to see them migrating through Florida each spring and fall.

"I observed an adult, gorgeous Painted Bunting eating from my feeder this afternoon. He is migrating back up north. He always stops here on his way down and back up north again." 02/27/15 Palm Bay, Florida
