STILL Too Windy in Indy
+0 Miles

Winds have stalled the migration at 393.1 miles. Before the sun rose this morning, the crew in Morgan County knew this would be a "no-fly" day. The rush of northward air rattled the dry oak leaves over over their parked RV's. This wind announced they were standing
down another day.

VIDEO! Hopeful crane viewers will have to wait to see the cranes in person at the next stop: Muscatatuck NWR in Jennings County, IN. But today EVERYONE can view migration video clips on The Weather Channel! Operation Migration and The Weather Channel team up starting today to bring you weekly video highlights. What a great way to end the week!

A Way to Help
Why not save the gas for driving to Jennings County to see the birds--but send the gas money to support the migration? Each of the aproximately 1200 miles costs $184.00. Sponsor a mile, half-mile or quarter mile. But ANY amount of money helps:

$15.00 buys 50 pounds of Crane Chow.
$32.00 buys 5,000 mealworms for Robo-crane to dispense.

$40.00 fills the fuel tank of one ultralight, which brings bout 3 hours of flight time.
Visit Operation Migration's Website or call their office at 1-800-675-2618.to find out how to give!

Keep a Migration Journal

Today's Question: In three weeks of migration, what do you call the best day? The worst day? (See a list of reports here.) What migration milestones are you looking forward to?

Migration Math: The ground support crew will drive almost 1700 miles on the migration. The pilots and birds will fly about 1225 miles by the time the birds are home free. What's the difference, and why the difference?
