Again, No Go (+0 Miles)
October 7, 2006: Migration Day 3

Wind Again
It's still Juneau County, Wisconsin, 4 miles from home. The planes and cranes are grounded again today by strong winds out of the south. Will calm air be waiting tomorrow? We hope!

In the Classroom

  • Today's Journal Question: The photo shows empty camp chairs in the team's quarters. The team is busy. What do you think the team does on the no-fly days? What jobs and needs can you list that are necessary to keep the vehicles, aircraft, pens, birds, and people in good shape?
  • Record Keeping: Make a hatch mark for the second no-fly day in that column on your migration comparison chart.
  • The Migration in Motion
