Down Again (+0 Miles)
November 14, 2006: Migration Day 41

It was so calm at 5 am that the team was hopeful of flying to the next stopover today. Then the winds kicked up strong. Their hopes were and dashed. They won't sleep at Muscatatuck NWR in Jackson County, Indiana today after all.

The second travel pen, ready to go to the next stop.

In the Classroom

  • Today's Journal Question: How many miles has the migration traveled so far? By day 41 in past years of the migration, what state have they usually reached? Click on Operation Migration's Chart to find out. Using the Internet, what can you learn about the weather forecast in Morgan County, Indiana?
  • Migration History: Check out what pilot Joe Duff wrote on Day 41 in 2001, the first year of ultralight-led migrations. Joe describes a common sight. What is it? Wouldn't you love to be there??!
