The weather was right! All 18 birds took off after Chris, including #619 (see question below). The air was bumpy at lower altitudes and Joe, Brooke and Richard each picked up birds as they dropped away. They picked up smoother air and a 5- to 8-mph tailwind at 1000 feet and all are safe in Jackson County, Indiana. Joe made it in just 1 hour and 7 minutes, while it took Brooke 1 hour 42 minutes. They're at Muscatatuck NWR, where the public can see them fly over as they depart — tomorrow, we hope!
