Who's That?
Crane chick #3 is safely in the chicks' enclosure, but who's outside the fence? Those white birds are subadults #4-12 and #5-12, who trained here last year and have now made the training grounds their summer home! They hang around in hopes of getting some treats. The team always tries to chase them off but it usually fails. It's better if they aren't around so they don't fight with the chicks.
Also, it's better for the older birds to break any bond with the "costume" and become wild cranes.
