Ground School
It's July 1. Still in Maryland for another week, the Class of 2013 began training with the tiny yellow aircraft that will lead them on migration. For now, they just learn to walk along and not be afraid. The long-necked crane puppet encourages them with recorded crane vocalizations and with treats dropped from its mouth.
