May 2, 2015: The cranes were captured and kept overnight in their old travel pen. The net night they were driven by van to be released early the next morning on their home "training ground" at White River Marsh in Wisconsin. The young birds had failed to find their way home on spring migration after their "leader" left them in unfamiliar territory. Here, #9 shows off her white plumage and the beginnings of her red crown. With her are cranes #9 and #10.
