August 7, 2001 Photo courtesy Heather Ray Operation Migration Lift off - We have lift off! The five older birds at site #2 have been getting more and more air time during the early morning sessions. A couple even followed Joe while he led them on a low circuit around the training site and landed with the trike on the grass strip. The younger cranes at site #1 also continue with daily conditioning sessions and are quickly catching up to the older group.
