October 21, 2003 Standing Down Again
It's another day on the ground in Sauk County, Wisconsin.Today's winds are out of the Northwest at 10-15 mph and gusting. The winds are blowing the right direction for migration, but they are unstable, which is too risky for young cranes flying so close to the ultralight plane. Predictions are for winds out of the north at just 5 mph tomorrow. That would mean good flying conditions--and some welcome progress in this off-to-a-slow-start migration! While we're waiting, we asked Pilot Brooke Pennypacker to greet you. Brooke and all the OM pilots consider you their friends!
Try This! Journaling Question
at do you think Brooke meant when he said that YOU are helping the migration?
