Day 12
S'no Go
Snow showers mixed with rain and blown by winds from the northeast ruined any hopes for flying today. For
the fourth day, the migration is grounded in Green County, Wisconsin.
No migration news for the yearling cranes, either. The weather must be keeping them all hunkered down to wait
for better flying conditions. Stay tuned!

Try This! Journaling Question
- Check out our 2002 flock chart to learn how much each young
whooper weighed at the premigratory health check. Use tally marks to show how many birds at each weight listed
in the chart. Then answer these questions: Which bird weighs the most? Which birds weigh the least? Which weight
is most common for the birds in this flock? Is weight a good indicator of differences between males and females
in this flock? What is the average weight of the birds? (NOTE: No weights were available for #5, #7, or #8.)
