At 7:48 a.m., the young whoopers took off in a perfect flight, leaving behind the stopover site where they spent five long days waiting for fly-able weather. All 16 flew behind Richard's ultralight until Brooke moved in halfway through to lend his wing to two birds that appeared to be dropping back or getting tired. The whole team arrived at 8:54 a.m. in Jackson County, Indiana. Today's flight added 41.7 miles, for a total of 433 statute miles.
