November 14, 2001 Day 29 Hello, Georgia! A Tennessee Sky! Courtesy OM Six cranes lifted off from Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge in Meigs County, TN today and crossed another state border. They landed in Gordon County, Georgia after flying 1 hour and 45 minutes. Today's flight covered 67.2 miles. Once again, the crane conspiracy ruled and one bird dropped out. Bill picked it up and took it in the rest of the flight--50 miles. Two birds flew on Deke's wing and three birds flew on Joe's wing. If you can spare some pennies, the migration could use them. The weather delays have meant a longer migration and extra expenses.
