Day 35
Waiting
Out the Weather
|
What
is your prediction for a migration departure in the next few days
as the cold front moves along? Explain. |
Adair County Kentucky is getting mighty familiar. The migration
continues to wait out the wet, windy weather since arriving there 6 days
ago. Today is overcast and warm, with thunderstorms and wind. To
get to the aircraft and crane pen, the pilots and crane handles must cross
a river that's usually shallow and only about 20 feet wide. The rains
have been so heavy that the river has swelled to 40-feet wide with much
deeper water.

Crane
#14 (2002) hadn't begun her migration as of latest word Nov. 15.
The only ultra-crane that did not return to Wisconsin last spring,
she remains in her chosen "home" in Carroll County, Illinois.
Of course we can't know what she's thinking, but make a list of questions
you'd like to ask this whooper.
