Day 39

Finally in Florida!

Photo Operation Migration

At 7:34 a.m., with sunny skies and light winds, the pilots and cranes make a break for Florida--but they soon hit a wall of fog as a storm system moved in. Luckily, they found a temporary landing spot in a recently harvested cotton field where they could wait out the fog. At 10:36 a.m., the fog finally lifted and the pilots and birds were airborne again. They had 10 miles to go to their intended landing site in Florida. Nineteen minutes later, they landed in Hamilton County and the first stopver in Florida.
