Migration Day 52

Approaching Storm Prevents Climbing Out of "Bowl"
Photo OM

It's another long day away from home and family for the migration team. A storm with high winds and possible lightning ruined today's plans to leave Walker County, Georgia. Their location is like being plunked in the middle of a big bowl. Heather says, "We're on the bottom, much like the only leftover Cheerio, when all the milk has been drained. The wind comes rolling over the edges of our bowl, seemingly blowing from all directions, while on the table outside the bowl, conditions are calm."   It's really frustrating! Once out of this bowl, there are no more ridges to worry about. The finish line is in sight and it should be a downhill slide into Crystal River, FL. They just need a good day to climb out of there!

Guess what? Two years ago today marked the end of the 2002 journey south.

Try This! Journaling Questions
  • Yesterday you heard an audio clip of Joe telling what it's like to fly with the birds. But could leading the migration have a downside? Read Joe's comments and the journaling questions that follow.
  • What would be the hardest part for YOU if you were a member of the team? When have you been excited and eager to do something, but needed to "psych yourself up" for the challenge? What did you learn that will help you in the future?
