What is happening?

Dr. Richard Urbanek (in costume) fires a net gun to help capture Whooping crane #101 in February 2010. This male's radio transmitter has not worked for a long time. He is the oldest crane in the new eastern flock, and he was captive raised by the "costume." Dr. Urbanek wears the costume because it hides his human form, and it's familiar to the crane. After a pop from the net gun there's a quick flurry of white cloth, white feathers, and flying nets. Then #101 was in the gentle arms of a specialist. His transmitter was replaced and now he is trackable again!
