Last year's crane-kids turn one year old in April, May or June. How they've changed! See all they have done:
| •Learned to feed themselves | •Learned to fly |
| •Grown five feet tall | •Got adult voices and colors |
| •Flown over 1,250 miles (Eastern flock) or over 2,400 miles (Western flock), and learned their migration route | •Migrated home again with no human help |
All the concern, work and care to help the captive-raised chicks has now paid off. This is their first summer as wild, free Whooping cranes. What will they do now, until fall migration?
