Event Eagle (Satellite-tracked) U21

Adult Bald Eagle - Time (GMT): 19:52:26
After spending 23 days in the Lake Champlain area, U21 moves.
Cold winter temperatures hit the area recently and the bays of Lake Champlain have frozen. Water temperature is down to 33 degrees and the lake should soon freeze solid for the first time since 2005.

Eagles can fish in open water, and they can catch ducks and other waterfowl. When ice begins to cover a lake, the waterfowl gather in the last remaining open places. This makes it easier for an eagle to capture them.
