Because aerial tumbling is most commonly seen between immature birds, 'Eagle-Eye' Nye thinks the purposes for play and for learning the intricacies of flight. In the cartwheel display, the pair flies to high altitude, locks feet together, and then tumbles and cartwheels toward the ground, breaking off at the last moment.
