Jeannie from Monterey Bay Whale Watch Center will report "firsts" and highlights from the whale's journey north as the whale watch captains see them.

No date for first cow/calf sighting was reported in 2010.

Jeannie told Journey North that they see six to 12 gray whales on each of their excursions recently, but no cow/calf pair yet. Last year (2009) the first mom/calf sighting was April 7.
