Canadian friends:

Hello! My name is Imelda Patricia Razo Lope. I am 12 years old and I study in the Amado Nervo elementary school.

I would like to tell you about the whales. It is estimated that whales appeared between 50 to 70 million years ago. The whale is one of the biggest animals that exists and its brain is much bigger than a human brain.

The trip whales make from Alaska to Laguna Ojo de Liebre [translation: Hare's Eye Lagoon] is because they have to migrate to have their babies. Whales feed on tiny fish called krills. It is estimated that that whales are in danger of becoming extinct and that is why we have to take care of them and love them because whales are part of our life.

Sincerely yours,

Imelda Patricia Razo Lopez
