Thar' She Blows!
What's this bushy tower? It's a clue that a whale is in view! Long ago, whale watchers and hunters called out "Thar' she blows!" to alert others to see, too. In a split second the surfacing whale empties lungs the size of a small car. The warm air blasts out with such force that the spouts, or blows, may be 15 feet high. They may be heard from a half mile away. It's a thrilling moment for anyone lucky enought to see a spouting whale.
