Look at the first map below.
It shows where ruby-throated hummers have been reported in the
past month or so.
Now look at the second map. The green and orange colors
show where most ruby-throated hummingbirds spend the winter.
Think:
Why were these reported sightings unusual? How
do you think the rubythroats survived so far north of their
tropical winter grounds?
