Pea was caught in the trap.Nancy carefully put a tiny numbered band on the
bird's leg. It was like giving her a name tag. Nancy also weighed and
measured; Sweet Pea weighed only 4 grams, less than a nickel. All Nancy's measurements and other observations were recorded on a data sheet, along with the band numbers, the date, and place Sweet Pea was
banded. The data sheet was sent to a lab where all bird banding records are kept. |
