Traveling Far
Costa Rica is at the far end of the wintering range. A hummingbird migrating from Quebec to Costa Rica taking a land route instead of flying over the Gulf of Mexico would travel 3,500 miles! Hummers typically reach Costa Rica in mid- to late October. Use Google Maps to estimate how far a hummer must travel from your hometown. |
