Summer/Fall 2001 Recap |
Like Grace, Megan spent much of her time at the Cape Romano seagrass beds. She did
travel briefly inshore, using the rivers between Palm Bay and Mud Bay. On one return
visit to Port of the Islands, she used the area east of the Faka Union canal, which
consists of a series of winding waterways and small bays that used to be part of
the Fakahatchee River. In November and December she made several trips between Cape
Romano and Port of the Islands. She spent the cold spell in early January at Port
of the Islands and has since moved out to the outer islands near Whitehorse Key. |
